William J. Castell Jr. Chairman & CEO
In 1982 William J. Castell founded Management Advisors International, Inc.(MAI), one of our country's first executive search firms with a dedicated focus in the financial services sector. The vision to specialize in the banking, mortgage banking, securities, insurance, and associated vendor management industries has proven to be the pivotal foundation for MAI's position as one of the leading, most well respected search firms in the nation. A contributing factor for Castell's success has been his ability to recruit financial services industry leaders for leadership and recruiting roles in his company and their ability to recruit top talent needed to fuel and sustain the growth of these dynamic indrustries sectors over the past three decades.
After earning a degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University, he began his career in mortgage banking with First Union Mortgage Corporation (formerly Cameron-Brown Company). Following a number of years in production at the branch and regional level, he accepted a national production management position with PENNAMCO, Inc., a mortgage banking subsidiary of First Pennsylvania Bank in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Following PENNAMCO's sale to Manufacturers Hanover Bank in 1979, Bill entered the executive search industry with Corporate Consulting, Inc. in Winter Park, Florida. In 1983 he founded Management Advisors International and relocated the company to North Carolina.
Bill was published in Jess Lederman's book, Mortgage Banking, a Handbook of Strategies, Trends and Opportunities. In addition, he has recently published "An Executive's Guide for Interviewing and Evaluation".
